Rajgarh district is located in the northern part of the Malwa plateau. Rajgarh district lies between latitudes 23,027’12” north and 24,017’20” north and longitudes 76,011’15” and 77,014′ east. The district’s curved boundaries resemble a pear. Rajgarh district is bounded by Shajapur district to the south and Sehore, Bhopal, Guna and Jhalawar (Rajasthan) to the west and south-east. The total geographical area of the district is 6154 sq km. It is one of the smaller districts of Madhya Pradesh. According to the 2011 census, the district has a population of 15,45,814. It is 145 km from the state capital Bhopal.
