Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple-Sarangpur
DirectionKapileshwar Mahadev Temple, built in the middle of the river Kalisindh, is famous for its supernaturalism, natural beauty and religiosity and is the center of faith.
Its specialty is that it is safe even amidst the sharp current of the river and the floods that occur every year; the temple is a unique specimen of architectural art. This temple built hundreds of years ago is designed in such a way that the flood water reaches only half the peak.
It is believed that Kapil Muni did penance on this rock of the temple. Shiv ling was established by him. Traces of the cracking claws of his Kapila cow are still present on the rock. The temple was renovated 800 years ago by Maharaja Jeevaji Rao Panwar of Dewas.
Being in the middle of the river and on the banks of the cremation ground, the importance of chanting and worship in this temple is no less than that of Jyotirlingeshwar. A 7-day fair is organized here on the full moon day of Kartik. Here is the Shani temple with Sri Balaji and Navagrahas. Devotees arrive on Somavati and Shanishwari Amavasya.
Fair – Celebration: – Every year a 7-day fair is held on the grounds of Kapileshwar Temple on Kartik Purnima.
